Brendan's video production career began just after high school, when he studied multi media production and film production while working as a transport co-ordinator for a shipping company to keep the dollars rolling in.
He finished his study and started a video company 'Newstate Video Productions'. Brendan's role was mostly as a wedding videographer and video editor, with the occasional creative company video to keep things interesting.
Around 1998, when Brendan was investing in new equipment for his video company he made a call to his former school friend Chris Schwager. He knew Chris had an interest in film production, and they made several wedding videos and short films together.
In 2002, Brendan co-founded Ridge Films with Chris, initially taking on the role of video editor, but also overseeing the day-to-day running of the business.
By 2005, Brendan ceased being a Video Editor after producing a catalogue of company videos and almost a dozen short films, with a few Video Producer and Cameraman credits to add to his list. This was also around the time Ridge Films committed to producing only corporate productions, declining weddings, music videos and short films. Brendan continued winning awards for his work on short films until 2008.
Brendan continued with Ridge Films as Video Producer and Video Company Director, bringing in business from Government and Private organisations (many showcase on this site). Ridge Films became Ridge Films Corporate Pty Ltd and Brendan gave himself the title of Executive Producer to help people understand his role in their productions and in the business.
Around that time he started two joint ventures, BrainBox e-Learning and clivevideo.com, where he successfully commercialised online video by personalising presenters for websites globally. CLIVE streamed over a million videos within it's first 18 months.
Brendan's focus is on communication, he believes in strong messages and good scripts. The rest falls into place as he says. He's a family man, genuine, kind and a very approachable guy. Ask him anything!
