Can you provide a quote for a 10-15 minute video?

Absolutely, we quote on long form content all the time, but before we provide a quote we’ll need to understand exactly what you're wanting. Let’s set a time to discuss your messages and expected outcomes. Duration, should be governed by the quality of the content and how it resonates with your audience. We want you to be confident you’re getting the right video for your business. Have a quick look at our ‘less-is-more’ video!

I have $x allocated for video production, can you adjust your quote to reflect our budget?

Yes we can and thank you for giving us this information. We're always very reasonable and competitive with pricing our work, but it’s always easier when we understand what you're company is looking to spend. Quotation changes typical reflect the amount of time we can allocate to your project. To offset this, you can offer your time or resources to assist with the project. A cost variation will never compromise the communication of your video, just the way in which we execute it.

How long will it take and how much time do I need to invest?

On a $10K-$20K project, the average turn-around is 3 weeks, but an indicative deadline for your project will be given in our proposal. If the job is approved, scheduling the production is one of the first steps. More time is spent on scripting and video approval than any other element. Once you provide us the information we need to complete your video, you can spend as much time as you like. The more flexible you are, the faster the production process and delivery.

What's the price for a corporate video in Australia?

The Australian average costs for a corporate video is $7K-$10K. It’s important you correctly compare quotes when choosing a video production company and not just look at the bottom line. Some of our competitors have quoted companies 5 to 10 times what we've charged, which means they've either misunderstood the brief or they're trying to take advantage of you. Ridge Films will help you understand exactly what you’re getting and use examples of our work to illustrate the look and feel of your project. At the end of the day you're paying for expertise, experience and the key people responsible for producing your video.

Should I get a professional presenter or use our employees?

There is nothing better than a good business presenter. They’ll save time and money because they already have the skills to consistently deliver content and bring your script to life. If you're wanting to put a face to your brand, then we can professionally train your employees and turn them into stars. In our experience having content experts or senior executives on screen, can dramatically increase video engagement. We will advise you as we progress further into your project.

I do a lot of presenting, why do I need media training?

Media training speeds up the production process. Presenting to a live audience and presenting in front of lights with reading from an teleprompter are completely different skills. An inexperienced representative can struggle with a single word, blow out filming costs and add unnecessary time to your edit. Media Training will give you practical skills in a positive, relaxed and fun environment and you will have the confidence to make every performance the best.

What will I learn in the media training?

Our Creative Director will set a mock video shoot, in the convenience of your office prior to filming. This usually takes 1-2 hours and gives you a chance to get comfortable in front of the lens. If you're presenting for the first time, then you will learn how to read a script using a teleprompter; identify key phrases and how to emphasise them; use good body language to aid your delivery and make every take count.

What does a camera operator cost?

Camera operator rates vary depending on experience. As a guide, camera operator prices for a day long conference will cost upwards of $1000 AU. This rate includes a professional camera operator with high definition camera, sound and lighting. For more formal set-ups like interviews in front of a green screen, extra crew may be required such as a cameraman assistant and make-up artist. Video footage will be delivered after payment.

What is video production?

From Ridge Films view point, video production is the making of a video or videos, clearly defining strong messages and giving a reason to watch which achieves expected outcomes. Commonly the production process is broken into three main areas. Pre-production (concept, script, schedule), production (filming) and post-production (editing, proofing, delivery). See Video Tips
