How To Clean Your TeleprompterMax
Sep 18, 2024If your teleprompter has started to look a little hazy where blacks are turning grey or the screen looks misty, it might be time for a quick clean. In this video, we’ll show you how to maintain your teleprompter using the cloth that came with your kit, so you can keep your videos looking sharp and professional.
Steps to Clean Your TeleprompterMax
- Remove the Teleprompter Glass
Over time, dust builds up behind the screen, and the adhesive on the Velcro can start to loosen. Gently detach the glass from the Velcro frame—it’s safe and straightforward. - Use the Lens Cleaning Cloth
Inside your original kit, you’ll find a lens cleaning cloth. That’s exactly what it’s for. Don’t use any cleaning solution—just the cloth. - Clean Behind the Film
Carefully clean the inner side of the beam splitter film—especially in the center, where the lens looks through. You’ll notice a huge improvement in clarity. - Reattach the Glass Panel
Once the glass is clear, reattach it to the Velcro frame. Make sure it’s properly aligned and secure. - Check Camera Alignment
Finally, double-check your camera position. If anything’s shifted during cleaning (like in Neil’s setup), tighten it back into place.
That’s all it takes! A quick clean makes a big difference. Your blacks will be black again, your footage will look sharper, and your teleprompter will feel brand new—all in just a few minutes. Regular maintenance like this keeps your setup performing at its best, so you can stay focused on delivering great content.
