For higher end broadcast style recordings for interviews or podcasts, we recommend Riverside.FM. It’s not commonly known for its video conferencing, it provides individual quality cloud based recordings of each participant.

The Desktop Studio can record locally using a high-resolution switcher recorder while Zoom continues to handle the live session recording of meeting participants. Each is treated as a separate recording to be edited together after the session.

Yes. You can record external guests and audience participants within Zoom as normal. The local recording focuses on the in-studio camera and presentation.

No. Participants are managed inside Zoom, not as physical inputs on the switcher.

Yes. External speakers are captured via Zoom and combined with the high-quality local recordings during editing.

Yes. The switcher controls what’s sent from the studio to Zoom. From there the Zoom audience controls what they want to see.

Yes. Assigning a dedicated host to manage pinning during the session can influence what appears in the recording. This needs to be tested and standardised. Zoom recordings are baked into Zoom’s own logic and don’t always reflect live pinning behaviour. That’s a Zoom limitation rather than a studio issue.
