Camera Not Working? Troubleshoot Power and Connection
Jun 03, 2025If your camera isn’t showing up, the issue is likely related to power or connection. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and get your camera working again.
Step 1: Check the Camera Power
- Unveil the back of the TeleprompterMax and look for the green LED light on top of the camera.
- If the LED is on, the camera has power. If not, check the camera’s power switch to ensure it’s not turned off.
- Flip open the front flap of the camera to check if a signal is being sent.
Step 2: Inspect the Power Supply
- Find the transformer (a magnum-shaped adapter) under your desk.
- Ensure the IEC cable is firmly connected into the transformer and plugged securely into the power board.
- If there’s still no power, try plugging into another power socket to rule out a faulty outlet.
Step 3: Confirm HDMI Connection
- Locate the HDMI cable running from your camera. Make sure it’s securely plugged into the HDMI port on the camera.
- Check the entire length of the HDMI cable to ensure it hasn’t been disconnected or damaged.
- Verify the cable connection to your computer—especially if it's shrink-wrapped or part of a custom setup.
By carefully checking the camera’s power and HDMI connections, you can quickly isolate and fix the issue. If your camera still isn’t showing, further testing or a replacement cable might be needed.
