I'm Chris Schwager
But you can call me Schwags.
I'm extraordinary. A lot like you. I started young with a passion not taught in schools—filmmaking. My journey began in the 1980s capturing the world through the lens of a video camera. This early start wasn't just a hobby; it shaped my entire life's path, though I didn't realise it at the time.
For me, making videos was about expressing myself, and impacting the world around me.
Despite my deep roots in traditional filmmaking, having directed short films and music videos, and even working as an assistant director on a feature film that hit theatres worldwide, the real challenge of how to sustain a career and grow a business was yet to come.
The world of video changed, and so did I. After 2020, facing the unknown and rethinking my entire business model, I remembered the power of adaptability, a trait I had always relied on. But it was my survival from a near-fatal drowning accident in 2023 that profoundly reshaped my approach to life and business. This brush with death wasn't just a wakeup call; it was a catalyst for transformation. It reinforced my commitment to live intentionally and take decisive action, not just for my own success, but to empower others to do the same.
"If you're not growing, you're dying," a quote I heard once that hit home hard. This realisation led me to pivot my video production company, Ridge Films, to focus on DIY video production.
I wasn't just adapting; I was setting the stage for a revolution in how professionals everywhere create and consume video content.
Through years of refining this craft, I've built a community and a platform that doesn't just serve its members; it grows with them. We’ve made it simpler than ever to produce quality video content right from your desk, empowering countless individuals to share their stories.
